About Eve

Hi, I’m Eve. Thank you so much for visiting.

I am passionate about living a healthy and happy life, and I created Eve Organics to share my easy ideas for everyday wellness for you and your family and our planet. These are the ideas I’ve found that work for me and my family, and I encourage you to explore them on your own wellness journey.

I haven’t always been a health nut.  In high school and college, I somehow managed to subsist on a diet of Dr. Pepper, donuts and pizza!  But when I was diagnosed with chronic migraines, I began to notice the link between my diet and lifestyle and the frequency of migraine attacks. Avoiding migraine triggers meant over the years, I stopped using personal care and household cleaning products that contained chemicals and harsh fragrances. During pregnancy, I doubled down on this in an effort to provide my baby with the best start in life.

This mission for a healthier lifestyle was driven by the desire to avoid migraines and later to protect and nourish my little one, but I have found so many other benefits. My sleep is more restful, I have more energy during the day, and I am happier.  It’s hard to feel happy when you don’t feel well, so that is a big motivating factor for me to take care of my body, and to teach my family to do the same. I don’t adhere to a certain diet such as paleo or vegetarian, but rather follow Michael Pollan’s advice on eating: “Eat food. Not too much. Mainly plants.”

And I’m not a complete ascetic! I feel best physically and mentally when I eat a balanced and healthy diet, with a few treats thrown in here and there. When I’m feeling well enough, I love to indulge with a glass of nice champagne or a piece of my sister’s homemade cheesecake. I love sushi, great guacamole, and I have extremely vivid dreams about fresh croissants.

Over the past few years, I have become more focused on wholeheartedness and mindful living. I began to meditate daily and started a gratitude practice which has been one of the easiest and best ways to improve my daily happiness.

When I’m not writing here, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, cooking, yoga and travelling.
